The name, Talitha Koum, is from Syriac language and means "Little Girl Rise Up" and so perfectly fits the mission of what we want the Women's Recovery House to represent.
The Talitha Koum house is located at 527 East Main Street, Greenfield, IN. The house is being remodeled into a four bedroom, single family home that will be the future home for 8-10 women in recovery. A house manager and residential assistant will be onsite 24/7.
The home will offer, not only a safe, supportive, and sober living environment, but will teach and encourage self and social responsibility as well as life skills, self-care, family, employment, and recover programs.
Funding will be a combination of donations, grants, sponsorship, and each house member will pay a low-cost monthly contribution to the household.
Director - Linda Ostewig
Linda has a heart and passion to see families and those trapped in addiction to be free. This vision, for opening a women's sober home in Hancock County, came from her daughter's 11 year struggle with alcohol addiction with no place to live sober after many rehab stays. Linda has led several 12 step workshops and groups in codependency and addictions. She has also taught the 12 steps and principles of recovery.
